Balanced stones representing letting go

For the high-functioning adult moving from seamless performance to authentic connection.

Holding It Together: 6-Week,
Virtual Group Therapy for Adults in Virginia

Welcoming group therapy circle

You're the person everyone relies on. You anticipate needs, meet every deadline, and keep the motor running. But inside, the engine is, well, overheating. You're exhausted from the quiet pressure of always being fine. This is the place where you finally don't have to be.

The Journey

Weeks 1-2: Finding Your Feet (Grounding)

We start with the body. You’ll learn practical ways to notice the bouncing knee, tight chest, or antsy energy and bring yourself back to the present before the overwhelm takes over.

Weeks 3-4: The Power of the Pause

We look at the Autopilot Yes. You’ll practice The Pause, learning to check in with what you need before reflexively responding to everyone else's.

Week 5-6: Being Seen

The final shift: moving from performing to being. We practice relational courage, the art of letting yourself be witnessed without a mask, and realizing your needs aren't a burden. (Seriously.)

Is this the right fit for you?

This group is a curated container for those ready to put insight into action. It's likely a fit if you're looking for tools and community. It's not a fit if you're currently in active crisis, dealing with acute substance use, and/or unable to commit to the full 6-week cycle.

What if I see someone I know from the community?

We screen all participants beforehand to avoid dual relationships (like coworkers or close friends in the same circle). Privacy is our cornerstone. We establish a firm agreement that who's seen and what's said stays within the group.

I’m nervous about being put on the spot.

This isn't a performance. There's zero pressure to share more than you're comfortable with. Many people find that just being present and listening to others' stories can be reassuring. You're always in control of your level of participation.

Do I have to be in individual therapy to join?

Not necessarily, but group works best as a relational laboratory alongside individual work, meaning a place for you to try out things like setting boundaries or being more assertive. During our screening call, we’ll talk about your current support system to make sure this is the right level of care for you, right now.

What if I have to miss a session?

Because this is a closed, 6-week group, consistency is a key ingredient in making it successful. We ask that you commit to all six sessions. However, we know life happens. If you have an emergency, we just ask for as much communication as possible to support the group dynamics.

Can I use my insurance for this?

Wildwood is an out-of-network provider. We provide a monthly Superbill for Group Therapy (CPT Code 90853). Depending on their benefits, many clients receive at least partial reimbursement from their insurance providers, but we recommend checking your specific out-of-network benefits first.

Finally, a place where "fine" isn't required.
