THERAPY FOR

relationships

Rediscover your vibrance, connection, and fulfillment again.

couples counseling that honors you as a unit and as individuals.

To be in relationship means to be in connection. When we feel disconnected, whether from ourselves or our partner(s), we can also feel disoriented, lonely, anxious, resentful, or guilty. Couples counseling is an opportunity to get clarity about you and your relationship, and to develop deeper friendship and intimacy. Together, we’ll tackle relationship problems as just that – relationship problems – not one person’s problem.

It can feel especially hard to deal with issues that feel “taboo” or have traditionally been stigmatized. Whether you’re in a relationship with one person or multiple people and regardless of where you fall on the monogamy-polyamory and/or sexual orientation spectrum, I’m here to support you.

I’ll help you get clear on what your needs are as individuals in relation with each other and as a unit, and figure out how you can meet those. You don’t have to be in crisis to start counseling. Why suffer? Couples therapy is for anyone, in any relationship stage or constellation, who’s ready for change and wanting support. Let’s bring more curious, confident, playful life energy into your relationship(s) again.

Learn a new way to be - together.

You're tired of feeling stuck in your relationship.

You know something needs to change. You’ve had enough of feeling:

  • Bored with or disconnected and distant from someone you used to feel so close to
  • Frustrated, annoyed or angry trying to work on your issues with little to no improvement, feeling like you’re never quite talking about the real issue, or repeating the same argument dynamics over and over (the dreaded “dance”)
  • Guilt or resentment about things you or your partner(s) did (or didn’t do), said (or didn’t say)
  • Worried about broaching and expressing your needs and desires – you love your partner, and want more
  • Sad about how unfulfilled you are, and the state of such a special, important relationship
  • Fearful about your relationship’s future

You’re not sure how long you can keep going like this.

but guess what?

it doesn't have to STAY THIS way.

I understand ambivalence about entering into couples counseling. You may want, need, things to change, and simultaneously be scared of taking the risk of opening Pandora’s box. You may be afraid of sharing a deep, private truth or secret, hurting your partner(s), or vice versa. Maybe it hasn’t felt safe to be open, honest, and vulnerable with each other.

Our first goal is to establish safety. Once we do that, we can begin to peel back and get to know your thoughts, feelings, needs, desires, and experiences as individuals and as a unit. We’ll explore what you learned about relationships from your own family- and culture-of-origin how that messaging influences you today.

I’ll facilitate conversations, teach skills, and offer support so you and your partner(s) can work toward your relationship goals. Couples therapy with me is affirming and shame-free. I am non-judgmental and open-minded about your lifestyle choices. In fact, I respect and applaud your decision to be intentional in your relationship(s).
